I am a Ph.D. student at Indiana University, and am currently a Mellon/CLIR dissertation research year fellow. My project examines Liberia at the world's fairs - I look at how the new nation creates exhibits and represents its multicultural nationhood and modernity from a mere six years after independence (independence - 1847, first national fair-1853) through an appearance at the New Orleans world fair in 1984 (passing through Philadelphia, Chicago, Paris, and New York along the way).

I'm interested in wrangling large amounts of data, trans-Atlantic networks, and navigating digital publishing. I also work with our university's LMS to design online practices for undergraduates - giving them some ways to "practice" art history on their own time before taking traditional exams.
