My research focuses on the history of twentieth-century sculpture and the art of postwar Europe and America, with a particular emphasis on issues of materiality, intermediality, and the relationship between art and industry. Essentially I am interested in things and stuff, which may seem counterintuitive to an interest in digital humanities, but I see the latter being a means to better help us understand the former. I have previously taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the University of Michigan, and Southern Methodist University as well as holding curatorial appointments at the University of Michigan Museum of Art and the Nasher Sculpture Center.
