My background and training is in art - I've worked as a new media artist and public artist in the past, and even done some performance. These days I work on Cold War nuclear film, including the creation of an annotated archive. I also coordinate implementation of Scalar for our campus at the University of Illinois. Wasn't really interested in the Digital Humanities until I encountered DH work and scholarship that addressed the history and criticism of technology and looking to renew the university as a labor and learning space. Fan of sound studies, radio, dhpoco, critical technical practice, painting, indie comics and real practice-based research.
